Set up 2FA for Google on your Mac

Google supports authenticator apps for two-factor authentication. Here’s how to set it up with Quick Authenticator on your Mac.

  1. Sign in to Google and open the security settings: Google security settings

Path in the English interface: Google Account › Security › 2-Step Verification › Authenticator

  2. Choose to set up an authenticator app. Google shows a QR code.
  3. In Quick Authenticator, click + and hold the QR code up to your Mac’s camera, drop a screenshot of it onto the window, or paste the setup key.
  4. Enter the current code from Quick Authenticator to confirm.
  5. Save the backup codes Google gives you in a safe place.
